Detailed Description

This year GM3 will take place in Edinburgh on the 16th and 17th of December, hosted by University of Strathclyde, Edinburgh Napier University and supported by Scottish Universities Geotechnical Network (SUGN), a collaboration of universities in Scotland (and northern England) dedicated to advancing geotechnical research.

The conference will be held at the Royal Society of Edinburgh, conveniently located near Waverley train station and several hotels.

As always, presentation slots will be prioritised for PhD students and early career researchers. We want to ensure everyone has ample time to present, so once we know the number of talks, we’ll share the final schedule.

We particularly welcome contributions from PhD students and early career researchers in a supportive and friendly environment. While numerical approaches to microscale soil behaviour are often discussed, the conference also values experimental work exploring micro–macro soil behaviour. It’s also a great way to end the year and reconnect with colleagues in our field!

The registration of £145 per person. includes venue hire, lunch, dinner and refreshments over the two days. We are not making a profit out of this.
