Students will critically examine leadership theories in the context of different countries, companies and situations, with a specific focus on leadership in a sporting sector context. The extent to which effective leadership is situation-dependent will also be considered. Students will analyse and interpret a number of accounting principles, such as budgeting processes, balance sheets, profit and loss statements and cash flow statements all of which are fundamental to building the viability of a sports organisation. Students will explore funding sources in sport such as capital and recurrent funding and will assess the implications of environmental factors upon funding approaches.Students will learn how to produce an appropriate funding model within a clearly defined environmental context.
